About Our ClientOur client is one of the world's largest and leading Construction and Infrastructure businesses. This role with report to the Divisional Financial Controller and will be responsible for the financial, accounting and reporting processes for the Australian Group.
This is initially a 15 month contract with the potential to go permanent.
Job Description
The key responsbilities include the following:
- Financial reporting and Consolidation reporting
- Financial accounting and Month end processes for the Australian Group
- Annual and quarterley budgeting and forecasting and management reporting
- Maintaining financial reporting systems
- Prepare Tax submissions and compliance
- Internal Controls including co-ordinatinbg the various mid-year and year end audit processes

- This role will support the Divisional Financial Controller and will be responsible for the consolidation of monthly financial results for the Australian group
- Lead the monthly preparation and review of the reporting submissions by Australian Business Unit (BU) Finance teams before submission to the Financial Controller
- Support the Australian BU Finance Teams as required, ensuring the financial reporting timetable is met and provide support in terms of using financial reporting systems
- Preparation of monthly inter company invoices and reconciliations (approx 10 invoices per month)
- Play a pivotal role in co-ordinating and preparing the annual budgeting and year end reporting process
- Contribute to process improvement projects
- Preparation of monthly reporting responsibilities for the Australian Head Office including balance sheet reconciliations, bank transactions, month end journals, accounts payable processes
- Prepare 13 week rolling cash forecasts and complete the consolidation of Australian group's forecasts
- Monthly fixed asset processes
- Corporate Credit card reconciliations
- Preparation of local tax compliance reporting (BAS/GST, FBT etc)
- Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasting submissions for the company and consolidating the annual budget and quarterly forecasting submissions for the group
- Assist with the co-ordination of the various mid-year and year-end Audit processes for the Australian group
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- CA/CPA qualified
- 5+ years experience in a similar role, ideally having worked in the Construction industry or for a large complex business
- Strong technical accounting skills including group consolidations experience and understanding of IFRS accounting standards, processes and procedures
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong stakeholder management skills, the ability to work with non financial stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset
- Personable, reliable and possesses a can-do attitude
