Our Queensland State Government client provides professional and technical services to a range of government agencies and departments. Due to an increase in workload, the team is seeking a Property Acquisition Officer for a large program of work, focusing on increasing the availability of social housing for Queenslanders. This will be engaged on a full time contract basis, initially engaged until end 2022 with the view to extend.
Duties:
- Source available properties by reviewing open market websites and leveraging relationships with Real estate agents
- Investigate potentially suitable properties against customer land brief / requirement and undertake property due diligence
- Engage valuation services to ascertain current market valuation
- Instruct and coordinate technical due diligence and legal services
- Report writing detailing property information and investigations
- Negotiate with Real Estate Agents to agree price and other terms for property
- Coordinate land contract preparation and execution in conjunctions with legal officer
- Attend program status meetings and report on project status
- Work order management (project creation, budgets and cashflow, and billing)
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in managing property transactions (specifically acquisitions)
- Strong property market knowledge and ability to engage with Real Estate Agents agents across the state
- Experience working in a public sector environment (desired)
It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives.
