Who we are
This public council-owned library based in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide offers a space for the community to interact with each other. In this space, members of the community are able to access a variety of resources available to them such as books, ebooks, audio books and also access to digital hub classes.
The library also offers a wide range of classes and events that cater to parents or carers with children, virtual reality events, tutors to help with digital literacy and even hosts authors for the public to meet and greet!
The role
Randstad is now recruiting for passionate and confident library staff members who have a strong focus on excellent customer service. As a team member for the library, you will have a desire to interact with users of the facility and engage with them in a meaningful way. We are seeking candidates who are customer focused, tech savvy and possess a can do attitude.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver proactive customer service in line with library customer charter.
- Provide customers with clear instruction and basic troubleshooting in using a range of library electronic resources, devices and applications.
- Promote understanding of Library services, resources and facilities.
- Work collaboratively with others to deliver services and to identify improvements to work practices and procedures.
This casual library officer role will be able to offer you work based shifts varying from 8.30am to 5.15pm (Monday to Friday, excluding Thursdays), Thursdays from 8.30am-7.15pm, Saturdays from 10am-2pm and Sundays from 11am-2pm. Availability for shifts across the full range of Library opening hours will be highly regarded. Successful applicants will need to undergo a drug test and require a Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.
To be successful, you will need to have:
- Strong customer service ethic
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to learn
- Excellent organisational skills
- Minimum availability of 3 days
