job detailsExciting opportunity for a Project Manager seeking a new opportunity.
We are currently recruiting a Project Manager for a local SA council, just outside of the Adelaide metropolitan area for a short term contract with potential extension.
Position Objectives:
- Responsible for the effective scoping, design, procurement and delivery of civil infrastructure projects including, roads, stormwater, street and landscaping and building infrastructure as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project scope, design, procurement and construction within the defined time, cost and quality requirements
- Manage project risks and maintain the project risk register by coordinating the identification of, monitoring and mitigation of risks throughout the life of the project.
- Validate condition of infrastructure throughout scoping/planning phases in consultation with key stakeholders
- Actively manage project scope, time and budget and actioning change as necessary.
- Work collaboratively to ensure the project is delivered in accordance with the laid out plans.
- Responsible for the procurement strategy of projects including, drafting technical specifications and response schedules,
- Evaluation of quotations and chairing tender evaluation panels
- Perform the role of Contract Superintendent on nominated civil infrastructure projects
- Actively manage project budgets to ensure accurate cost forecasting is provided to the finance team.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Solid knowledge of civil engineering design and construction techniques including but not limited to: building construction, stormwater infrastructure, road and footpath, Traffic management, Landscape and related infrastructure.
- Detailed knowledge of project management, methodologies, best practice and systems,
- Proven high level reporting skills,
- Strong understanding of procurement strategies of contracts and material for the delivery of works in alignment with Procurement Policy.
- Highly competent in contractor and consultant management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with sound judgement and high risk management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills regarding specialised construction advice to stakeholders at all levels of understanding.
- Proven high level proficiency in Microsoft Suite of applications.
- Effective analytical and interpretive skills, particularly in drawings and design documentation.
- Proven project budget preparation skills.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent and/or considerable experience in project management, design and delivery of infrastructure projects
- Formal project management qualifications or as an elective of the degree qualification
- Considerable experience in managing infrastructure related projects
- Considerable experience in contract and consultant management
- Extensive experience in working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Considerable experience in project budget preparation and management.
