Job Description
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with preparation of month end reports for management (including attendance at the monthly results meeting with the CFO);
- Perform key month end accounting tasks, including preparation and posting of month end journals, financial analysis, preparation of management commentary, and GL account reconciliations.
- Manage the fixed asset function, including working closely with project managers to ensure projects are delivered within budget;
- Monitor daily cash forecasts, and manage the rolling cash forecast process;
- Assist with the management of external bank financing compliance requirements, including bank reporting, and debt funding lodgements;
- Prepare and manage key tax requirements for Australia and NZ tax authorities, including the preparation and lodgement of monthly GST returns, assist with the compilation of key areas of the annual income tax return, prepare annual FBT returns for Australia and New Zealand.
- Assist with preparation of annual budget and interim forecasts;
- Ensure adherence to key finance governance controls and principles;
- Other ad hoc finance support, as mutually agreed
The Successful Applicant
This successful candidate exudes a positive, team-first approach to their work and has an inquisitive mindset, willing to ask questions and deepen their understanding of the business. They must be open to challenges and willing to step outside their comfort zone to achieve new goals. Further experience required is:
- Tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1-2 years in an Accounting position
- Desire to study CA/CPA qualification
- Ability to handle pressure and work under pressure
- Exposure to TM1 or PowerBI is a bonus
