About our opportunity

This role is one of many added to our brand new Innovation Team within the Asset Management department and will take a lead role in building internal artificial intelligence and machine learning capability.

As our Senior Applications Developer you will contribute to the ongoing integration of Council's Corporate ICT, Cloud and Operational Technology systems and data through the development of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs,) Cloud and on-prem solutions.

You will also be required to: Provide advice in the complex analysis, design and architecture of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technology solutions Design and develop artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) systems according to Council's requirements Design program architecture for intended solution while ensuring it aligns with Council's existing ICT solutions and architecture Write code to a consistently high standard Ensure all agreed practices adopted by Council for code and code management are adhered to Ensure integrity, security and confidentiality of the systems Work collaboratively within the Innovation team, with our ICT team and with other Council stakeholders to ensure best practice solutions and service outcomes are achieved Remain current with relevant new and innovative technologies and approaches to Machine Learning development Contribute to the development of integrations between core Council systems and other disparate applications (both internal and external to Council,) using web services, APIs and other technologies Contribute to the future direction and ongoing enhancement of Council's service offerings by identifying and actioning opportunities for business and process improvement

About you

To be successful in this position your application will have demonstrated sound knowledge and experience writing robust code in Python, sound experience working with DevOps and agile delivery environments as well as familiarity with Machine Learning frameworks and libraries such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, scikit-learn, ONNX.

Ideally you will have experience with C# .Net Core development and AWS serverless environments and experience working with and developing solutions for Cloud platforms (AWS & Azure)

You will also possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills, excellent communication skills and well developed people and relationship management skills to contribute to and work in a positive team environment.

Further to the above, you will hold Degree in Computer Science (and equivalent) or have demonstrated relevant experience.

Award/Level: Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 6 of the Moreton Bay Regional Council EBA4 Certified Agreement

Location: Strathpine $94,194 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading 72.5 hour fortnight 9 day fortnight
