job detailsRandstad are proud to partner with a community focused Government Department with ongoing projects to be delivered. There is an immediate need for a Senior Asset Officer in the Eight Mile Plains office on an initial 4 month contract. Opportunity will be available to apply for the position internally or have the contract extended, as our client is building their team.
The responsibility of the Senior Asset Officer is to provide oversight and service direction in the management of asset condition assessment activities and programs within the companys Asset Management department, and to provide a service that ensures compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations, By-laws, Australian Standards and Companys asset management policies.
The successful candidate will:
- Display a well-developed initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and to resolve problems and issues, using an innovative approach where appropriate with demonstrated high level ability to proactively research, analyse, report and present information leading to service delivery improvement.
- Demonstrate successful experience in delivering high performing condition assessment, equipment compliance to obligations and safety in operation in the context of asset management in a large, diverse and complex organisation.
- Highlight a proven track record in managing complex projects using project management methodology.
- Exhibit advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to manage effective relationships and partnerships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including influencing and negotiating desired outcomes.
- Display a high level of customer service by providing professional and competent advice to internal and external customers and maintaining meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, with the ability to understand and react responsively to stakeholder expectations and forge strong networks and partnerships across a range of complex stakeholders to drive quality and safety outcomes and performance.
- Actively demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality, safety, risk management and criticality-based decisions, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, show flexibility and a willingness to make decisions.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Work proactively with senior responsible officers, to establish and maintain asset management governance processes.
- Manage the asset criticality assessment to determine suitability of current controls and treatments.
- Manage condition assessment process and identify areas for enhanced controls or renewal.
- Manage asset risks with a view to reducing the current risks by implementing additional treatments.
- Manage asset optimisation with a view to improving asset utilisation and performance including lifecycle analysis, productivity analysis and scenario modelling and impact analysis.
- Manage asset performance utilising computerised asset management systems to provide maintenance modelling, risk assessments, performance modelling and productivity analysis and ensure compliance with the performance-based requirements of the Building Code of Australia, Workplace Health and Safety Act and other relevant Australian Standards.
- The role reports to the Engineering Delivery Manager, Asset Management with a wider responsibility to various subcommittees for water and air quality.
- Evaluate the Asset Maintenance needs for maintenance of internal and external providers, establish, schedule and maintain maintenance plans and task lists to achieve compliance with Company requirements, Australian Standards and Manufacturers recommendations.
- Manage communication and consultation with a broad range of project stakeholders with competing interests and priorities.
- Ensure the successful adoption of the outcomes of projects, and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
- Manage contractors and or staff within the project, providing mentoring and advice on project management to staff across the business and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
- Undertake routine asset life cycle modelling, including costings, risk tolerance, investment prioritisation, business cases and project scope.
- Ensure that programs and projects report strategically to key stakeholders at agreed key milestones and within agreed deadlines, this includes high level reporting to the Director, Asset Management and the Steering Committee.
- Contribute own expertise, or capitalise on the expertise of others, to deliver specialist work packages in relation to data analysis, capacity planning, asset planning and redesign, engineering, process redesign and development of new infrastructure solutions.
- Monitor resources and expenditure are within the agreed program or project budgets against forecasts
- Manage and mentor team members ensuring that performance meets agreed performance criteria and portfolio deliverables are on time and within budget.
- Participate in and/or lead meetings, forums, committees, planning and focus groups as required.
- Comply with and utilise procedures, organisational policies (including infection control and manual handling practices), regulations and standards, which impact on the position, including contemporary human resource management issues, corporate governance, workplace health and safety, employment equity and anti- discrimination.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and take reasonable care to ensure that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others.
- Employees who are appointed to the MSH are to maintain data quality and manage all information in accordance with legislation, standards, policies and procedures.
- Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Requirements of this role include:
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar Asset Management role.
- Hold a C class motor vehicle licence, which must be provided before commencement of duty.
- Ability to work autonomously and utilise discretion in the absence of the decision makers.
It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
