Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queenslands Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Job Description
Build your career at our award winning, world-class operation. Moranbah North is seeking an experienced PCS Engineer, to join our highly capable Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) team. You will be responsible for the management and coordination of Process Control System activities associated with the plant operations to assist in driving performance of the process plant.
The role will enable the successful incumbent to work on large scale projects, develop their project management skills and be at the forefront of benching marking PLC automation performance for a CHPP.
This world class plant is fed by two high performing underground coal mines, whereby your duties will ensure the PCS infrastructure is installed and maintained efficiently to support the plant and proactively have early input into strategies and plans developed by others.
You will drive innovation and continuous improvement and be part of the Advanced Processing Control (APC) project for the site.
As a leader in your space, safety will be forefront in all your activities and you will use your expertise to set clear performance expectations deliver above name plant performance at the plant.
QualificationsElectrical Trade qualification or Electrical Engineering degree (required)Demonstrated experience working with Fixed Plant, industrial processing or automation in a PCS contextExperience working in CHPP will be highly regarded, but not essentialDisplay ability to be able to collaborate and communicate across different levels of the organization.Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detailKnowledge of Citec/SCADA systemsExperience with CAD and Allen-Bradley PLCExperience with SAP or other computerised maintenance management systemsAn intermediate skill level with the Microsoft Office suite of program
