Job summary
This is a permanent, residential role based in Alice Springs, Central Australia. We are conducting a national talent search for this position, generous relocation assistance will be included in the package.Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation (TCAC) is a community controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from the Alice Springs Town Camps, Urban Alice Springs and Central Australia.
Tangentyere Constructions is an enterprise of TCAC which delivers urban and remote construction projects within Central Australia, including an extensive Repairs and Maintenance programme on the Alice Springs Town Camps.
The WHS Officer will provide leadership, policy direction and guidance to Constructions division in the development and delivery of a workplace safety program to minimise risk of injury to Constructions employees, contactors, volunteers, and members of the public.
You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of Health, Safety and Risk management processes through the development of a Safety Management System and/or Methods that ensures the Constructions Work Health and Safety requirements meet or exceed the industry standard benchmarks.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in applying policy and procedures that meet legislative requirements regarding Work, Health, Safety and Environment. You will a proven track record managing multiple projects and/or sites, whilst applying a best practice approach and operational excellence.
In addition, you will hold a minimum Cert IV Work Health & Safety qualification, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong computer skills. Applicants with experience applying WHS Policies and Procedures within the Construction Industry will be held in high regard.
