About the role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead projects, solve complex challenges, and mentor a talented team. Make a significant impact and drive innovation within the organisation.
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct research to identify optimal engineering solutions and technologies, considering feasibility, cost, and constraints
- Validate designs and optimise performance through calculations, simulations, and testing
- Provide technical support and resolve issues for stakeholders
- Mentor and guide junior engineers for professional growth
- Lead the design and development of compliant light and power products
- Incorporate emerging technologies into project designs
- Drive independent decision-making and project completion
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate designs
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Selection Criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Track record of successfully leading and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams from project inception to completion.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, focusing on product design and development throughout the lifecycle.
- Knowledge of mobile plants and automotive systems is a plus.
- Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (ANSYS preferred).
- Skilled in structural analysis, fluid dynamics simulations, and thermal analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meeting strict deadlines.
- Must hold an Australian Citizenship or be a Permanent Resident
