job detailsRandstad are seeking applications from available and suitable candidates for the role of Mine Geologist for a mining client based at their mine site in northern South Australia SA. This exciting opportunity is available due to reopening of their mine site, due to uplifted market conditions and the implementation of major process improvements and efficiency upgrades to their processing plant.
Reporting directly to the Senior Mine Geologist, the Mine Geologist is a key member of the Geology team both on site and in head office.
Role Purpose:
- Assisting the development of the in-situ recovery mining and establishment of wellfield infrastructure
- Drill rig and wireline logging management
- Field staff management
- Logging of geological samples
- Collation and interpretation of downhole geophysical logs
- Development of 3d ore and geological models in Micromine
- Planning and management of leaching well installation
- Production reconciliation
- Data management within Geobank
- Map creation in QGIS
- XRF samples
The successful candidate will possess:
- Degree qualified in Geology
- Experience working on remote mine site/s
- You will have the flexibility to travel on roster to site
- You will be self-motivated and self-driven
- The ability to work independently whilst working with a small team
- Possess excellent written and oral communication
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Demonstrated Micromine Geobank software experience
- Previous experience in in-situ resource recovery
- Experience with sedimentary basins would be advantageous
The role is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster ex Adelaide Airport. Camp accommodation provided. Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role and preference will be given to those with relevant mining industry experience.
