The Role
We are looking for an experienced, motivated finance professional who is interested in taking the next step in their career with a hands-on role as a Financial Controller where you will lead a small but busy team.
The role will report directly to the owners and include the following duties and responsibilities:Management of the accounts and administration teamHands-on financial management including supervision of payroll (review timesheets, check rates, process payroll) and creditor management.Review BAS statements, rotating responsibility with the accounts team.Supervise office administration. Maintaining an accurate and up to date set of records for vehicles, leases and equipment.Supervise recruitment and HR support. Approval of advertisements for new hires, coordinate interviews, check qualifications and references and draft employment contracts.Supervise payment approvals and checking authorisation of supplier bills.Insurance. Handle insurance renewals, quotes, claims and documentation.Review workers compensation claims.Review debtors management. Work with the accounts team to ensure invoices are paid on time.Budgets and forecasts. Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and reporting variancesProcesses and procedures. Review the financial processes and procedures, make recommendations, document changes and additional procedures needed. Take an active role in procedure documentation for other departments outside of finance.Cash flow forecasts for projects. Work with the project managers of the major projects to build cashflow projections of costs and income per month; updating these monthly.Managing all day-to-day finance and accounting operations (accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory costings and adjustments, general ledger reconciliations)Assist the owners with cash flow management, revenue, forecasting and debt forecasting Supervise month-end and year-end close processContribute to improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the business
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have a collaborative style and will be an individual who will honour our core values of People, Safety, Respect, Communication and Continuous Improvement - in addition to this they will have:Tertiary qualifications in finance or a related disciplineChartered Accountant or CPA registration (or working towards registration)Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management roleContinuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality systemsA genuine desire to be in a hands-on finance role that adds value and supports decision makingBe interested in leading whilst collaborating with a highly engaged and hardworking teamExperience in NetSuite would be desirable
