Are you looking to join a dynamic and emerging organisation?We are searching for a highly talented Formulation Scientist to work within our Product Development team. This is a full-time role that would suit a scientist currently working in or looking to enter the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.

As a contract development research organisation, PharmSky strives to provide its customers with a launchpad to transform ideas and discoveries into registered, tangible products ready for market. PharmSky offers contract services in new drug product design, formulation and process development, method development and validation and stability trials, clinical product supply and regulatory support.
THE ROLE
The Formulation Scientist will perform formulation and process development activities of novel clinical trial candidates, including complex formulations such as liquid emulsions and nanoparticulate injectables. You will be a key member of the Product Development team and support the laboratory through the maintenance and qualification of equipment and materials. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a small team and contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our daily operations.
We offer flexible working arrangements you must work from the laboratory when required however work from home arrangements for documentation is possible and hours are negotiable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core responsibilities include:Develop formulations and processes for complex liquids using the principles of QbD to produce robust clinical trial drug candidates.Perform physicochemical testing to characterise critical attributes of formulations and their componentsDocument all work accurately and completely to high standards for handover to internal and external customersCompile, analyse and report data produced in support of the formulation development. Perform equipment/cleaning validation, calibration and preventative maintenance activities.Perform the preparation, manufacture and packaging of pilot scale batches for investigation, stability testing and clinical supply.Create, review or update documentation to support product development activities, including Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and batch records.Perform all activities according to relevant regulations and procedures and contribute to investigations, deviations and change control activities as appropriate.Train and assist in the development of other laboratory personnel as required.Identify improvements to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the laboratory.Keep up to date with training in relevant SOPs and relevant laboratory systems and procedures
Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Formulation Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related Life ScienceGood understanding of Quality by Design principles and relevant ICH guidelines and experience with the development of complex formulations like emulsions, liposomes or other nanoparticulate systems. Familiar with physical characterisation techniques such as particle sizing, viscometry, osmometryExcellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills and able to be creative within an entrepreneurial environmentExcellent organisational skills and interpersonal skills, enabling interaction with colleagues at all levels within and outside the organisation.Excellent written and verbal English communication skillsExperience with Microsoft applications (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
