Overall Role Purpose
Export Operator is responsible for:Takes customer bookingsProcessing, coordinating and distributing all required documents in the shipping area,Performs pickup arrangement, andEnsures customer requirements are met and documents are completed in a timely and efficient manner
Accountabilities
Impact Creates/confirms transport order to ensure pickup of the shipment at originPerforms booking and booking optimizationPrepares, controls and distributes all required Export documents to counterparts (carrier, consignee, supplier, etc.)Completes export clearanceChecks responses from counterparts and finalizes validation of required documentsFollows-up shipment status in the Export area, identifies incidents and ensures resolution of incidents
Customer, Other Stakeholder & ProcessDevelops relationship with portfolio of export airfreight customersIncident and exception management resolutionMaintains excellent relationships with suppliers
Problem Complexity/ProcessIs responsible for identifying performance issues of suppliers and proposes solutions to improve/correct performancePerforms IT systems related tasks to provide up to date information on shipment
Skills / QualificationsCargoWise system experience requiredExtensive knowledge of AirfreightAFR Export Operations preferred.Results & solution drivenMinimum two (2) years previous experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry in airfreight and/or ocean-freight operational roles (advantageous)Sound knowledge of Freight Forwarding and Logistics in generalAble to work independentlyFollow origin & destination government requirementsAdaptable to changes daily due to customer & airlines requestsHigh degree of reliability and attention to detail.Be a team player with a positive can do attitude.Be results driven and be able to demonstrate strong communication and administration skills
