Job Description
The key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant is:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, half yearly and annual financial reporting
- Assist in managing the day-to-day accounting, reconciliations and monthly reporting requirements for the business, including monthly journals, accruals, prepayment and provisions.
- Preparation and maintenance of capital expenditure, including review and maintenance of capital expenditure, fixed asset & depreciation schedules, and project tracking.
- Proactively control and monitor expenditure against budgets, including analysing and providing commentary on actuals versus budgets.
- Assistance with compilation of statutory requirements, for example FBT returns, GST returns.
- Assist with preparation of external auditor's requirements as part of the audit process.
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will have:
- Minimum 2-4 years experience
- Formal qualifications in accounting essential (e.g. Tertiary degree or equivalent completed)
- Completion or working towards CA/CPA or equivalent
- Experience in taxation related areas such as FBT, Income Tax and GST is preferred
- Experience multi-entity reporting
