The Role:
The Assistant Director is accountable under broad direction for exercising a considerable degree of independence and for planning; co-ordinating and delivering company related events and conferences from start to end. The Assistant Director is accountable for organising their own workflow and for making decisions in relation to their work area and team plans. They will demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the position, as well as the legislative and corporate frameworks that underpin its activities.
The Assistant Director will lead organisational development and change projects and research activities, applying knowledge and expertise, to keep up to date with new and emerging organisational development trends and practices in order to develop practical solutions to meet business needs. The Assistant Director will provide high-level advice and solve complex problems in organisational development and change, in an environment of ambiguity and uncertainty. They will ensure that knowledge is transferred to others.
Duties:
Co-ordinate small and large scale company Events from the planning stage to running the event according to stakeholder requirements, target audience and objectives
Apply knowledge and expertise to plan and execute events from a logistical, creative and technical perspective
Assess the event process to provide post-event evaluation for stakeholders to ensure the event has met the purpose and outcomes and offer recommendations for improvement where required
Awareness of budgetary impacts and other financial impacts in relation to running events
Set work priorities for staff, oversee and review project plans, briefing documents, reports and other written communications for leadership and key stakeholder groups
Develop tailored change management techniques and strategies and broader project management approaches, to meet deadlines and produce high quality outcomes that address business needs
Identify and explore new ideas, opportunities and risks through analysis and interpretation of organisational data, to inform, support and/or determine the course of action for business outcomes
Develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, engage and facilitate collaboration in the development and delivery of project work
Recognise and understand the key development risks and issues impacting the business environment when developing and implementing practical solutions to emerging opportunities and risks
