The Combat System (CS) Test and Trials Lead is part of the CS Test and Commissioning (T&C) Team and reports into the Head of CS Ship Integration and Test (SI&T). Activities will be typically under the direction of the CS Test & Commissioning Manager and/or a Subject Matter Expert in accordance with the relevant Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) Program project procedures and work processes.
Further, the successful candidate will: Support the development of the SI&T and T&C Work Breakdown, Basis of Estimate and Scheduling aspects of the program. Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) into the Requirements, Delivery & Functional Integration Teams to facilitate the development of Liaise with CSE suppliers to ensure their Test & Commissioning (T&C) plans and overall Harbour and Sea Acceptance Test approach is consistent with overall HCF program level T&C and Verification plans and approach. Engage with the Commonwealth and its GFM providers as required to in support of developing the Ship 1 T&C and Acceptance Test program Lead development of the CS T&C CAT 4 and CAT 5 (Stage 2-7) CS Test Sequence Network. Support relevant teams with the Mission System Verification Cross Reference Matrix (HVCRM). Liaise with the CS Delivery Teams around the conduct of CS T&C and CS Acceptance Verification & Validation Test Activities (CAT 3 - 5)
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role. About you
Your skills and experience will include: Tertiary qualifications in engineering, computer systems or related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience) Knowledge and experience with CS Acceptance Test Activities and overall CS T&C in Naval or related defence domain Knowledge and experience with Combat System Ship Integration & Test including but not limited to Functional Integration, Alignment and Topside Integration in Naval or related defence domain Demonstrated planning and technical management skills, coupled with strong team leadership/supervision acumen Proven ability in internal and external stakeholder management, especially with the customer and subcontractors Knowledge and experience in the use of the DOORS Requirements Management Tool
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
