Randstad is working with a leading national Transport and Logistics business seeking a Site Supervisor at their Fairfield site.
About the role;
- Lead team Tool box talks, safety walks and talks.
- Organise Driver upskilling and training with Driver trainers and the Safety team.
- Observe and manage driver fatigue and ensure load dispatch is coordinated in accordance with legislative requirements as well as key accountability for team Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
- Key point of Escalation for Drivers reporting injuries, hazards, conflict and customer concerns focusing on providing safe solutions to meet customer expectations.
- Plan employee resourcing requirements and work with the Human Resources team to recruit, interview, select and employ the appropriate candidate within budgetary guidelines.
- Conduct training and on- boarding for new employees.
- Develop and maintain a multi-tiered relationship across both our internal and external customers.
- Regularly meet with customers and provide updates and reports to maintain and build relationships.
- Oversee the timely pick-up and delivery of all products ensuring safe delivery of loads, without damage, in full on time and with accurate paperwork.
- Manage after-hours escalations, actioning all calls and providing solutions.
- Liaise with the workshop manager and promptly organise repairs and / or maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
About you;
- Strong focus on safety and compliance.
- Ability to build and maintain high level client, site and stakeholder relationships.
- Proven skills and experience in people leadership and the expertise to develop a positive culture
- Proven experience managing a compliant, demanding, site and / or distribution centre.
- Proven experience in consistently delivering results, and exceeding service and budget targets.
- Proven planning, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with
