The role will require the knowledge and experience to lead strategic planning, digital product and solution development processes; the skills to manage data modeling, mapping, interface design and data migration; and the ability to liaise and consult with stakeholders and provide effective engagement.

- Provide authoritative, expert and timely advice to the Senior Director Digital Experience, Chief Digital Officer, executive and senior management, and other stakeholders on digital product and solution development services, ensuring the successful planning, delivery and sustainability of digital initiatives.
- Lead in the delivery of governance, change management and assurance services for product and software development and testing, providing advice, communication and engagement, pre/post-implementation testing, capability building and oversight to manage the delivery of service improvements.
- Manage the web and developer teams through scrums, release planning, sprint planning and software development lifecycle, delivering improvements to development platforms and end products and increasing domain expert, citizen developer and pro-coder engagement.
- Lead in the development of strategic and operational plans, advocating from the user perspective in the delivery of new functionality, platform capability and development of product roadmaps, including the continuous development and redesigning of services through reflection and analysis of key learnings and feedback.
- Review, analyse and provide guidance in relation to product and software development, testing and data migration initiatives across the business, identifying gaps in services, assessing risks, determining the impact to the organisation and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Research emerging software and web development initiatives across the organisation, providing advice to stakeholders on emerging trends and developing strategies with multiple tools, infrastructure and architecture considerations across local and state-wide support solutions.
- Liaise and negotiate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders in the development and sustainability of digital product initiatives, managing conflicting priorities within tight timeframes, resolving issues and ensuring cost-effective outcomes are achieved within a constantly changing business environment.
- Build and maintain influential and consultative working relationships and networks with executive and senior management within the organisation, other government agencies and private sector stakeholder groups to implement initiatives and support the strategic direction to increase capacity and capability across the organisation.
- Build the capacity and self-sustaining capability of our staff, our community and others through skill development, coaching and mentoring on complex digital product and solution development, problem solving, innovation and transformation.
Role Criteria
- A tertiary qualification in an information technology or computer science discipline or related field
- 5+ Years experience in PHP, React.js and MSSQL as well as a strong understanding of AWS/Azure Services.
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people including senior business and technical stakeholders to make decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and promote ITIL Service Management processes primarily incident / problem / change / release management.
- Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor a team at strategic and operational levels in the integrated operation of complex enterprise information systems to achieve defined service levels.
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies (Prince 2)
- A certification of Fundamentals in Microsoft Azure AZ-900 would be highly regarded.
- Ability to work on site on the Gold Coast is required.
