About Our Client

Our client is an Australian Wedding Venue of the Year 2022 are currently seeking an experienced & passionate Head of Sales and Events who has a passion to inspire & create memorable experiences in our exclusive event spaces in Melbourne.

Our philosophy is built around creating memorable dining and entertainment experiences, innovative menus designed using seasonal local produce and a focus on current food trends, impeccable service and most importantly, delivering exceptional events that exceed client and guest expectations at all times.

Job Description

- Foster a harmonious, motivated and innovative working environment
- Monitor staff performance and when required coach and counsel staff in line with established guidelines and procedures
- Plan and deliver sales strategies for designated market segments
- Proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities
- Maximise conversions of incoming corporate enquiries
- Conduct venue site inspections and face to face sales meetings (both on and offsite)
- Effectively negotiate and yield the space based on venue demand and peak periods
- Maintain database and sales activities within CRM system
- Financial management - profitability of events, accurate invoicing and weekly management reporting

The Successful Applicant

- Demonstrated track record in a similar role and evidence of meeting sales goals and targets
- Experience in a leadership role and can demonstrate people management skills
- Successful influencing of key relationships at a senior level with client organisations and stakeholders
- Exceptional customer service skills, networking skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry suppliers
- Strong communication, negotiation, yielding, and time management skills
- Existing relationships with key players in the Melbourne hospitality and events market
- Tertiary qualification in hospitality, events or similar discipline is highly desirable
- We are in the entertainment business, so of course you will share our love of food, beverage and events
- A background in hospitality, events, catering or tourism is preferred
