Your new position
You will be responsible for managing the development of ministerial trade and investment mission proposals, detailed programs and briefing materials for the Premier and ministers, by engaging with all relevant stakeholders across all levels of governments and industry, in Australia and internationally.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Develop mission proposals listing meetings and events for the Premier, the Governor and Ministers in consultation with key stakeholder in order to deliver trade and investment outcomes for Queensland
- Manage the preparation of a detailed mission program of activities, including logistics and supporting briefing materials for the Premier, Ministers and Governor.
- Monitor the market delivery of missions to ensure successful delivery and provide timely updates to mission materials to ensure the travelling party is kept up to date with any changes in the program.
- Prepare the draft parliamentary travel reports for the Premier, and Ministers with inputs from attendees at meetings and events attended by the Premier, and Ministers.
- Develop and foster effective relationships with key stakeholders across Queensland and Federal Government departments and agencies, industry and foreign companies and missions in Australia to ensure mission programs are fully supported.
- Provide strategic advice and communications on all aspects of the ministerial mission program to senior management.
- Provide verbal mission briefings to ministerial offices and senior staff on mission proposals and programs outlining mission objectives and logistics.
The successful candidate
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically from a broader government, industry and community perspective.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and guide others to ensure specific outputs are delivered.
- Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and implement change in a client facing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects, with a high level or organisational skills.
- Possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills and has a high level of resilience while operating in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities.
Practical experience in international relations, policy and cross government coordination and/or qualifications in policy or business will be favourably regarded
