The Raw Materials Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of raw materials components for the Workshop as well as purchased goods by being a strategic leader. The role will be an intermediary between supply planning, demand, and production, supporting the business by running a robust and reliable purchasing and raw materials team. The role will play a significant part in running effective operations, future growth ambitions, and continuing improvement of quality and reliability of our products through effective supply, communication between operations, commercial and customers.

- Manage the Purchasing & Raw Materials team and associated activities of the team
- Manage inventory control and stock accuracy to support uninterrupted manufacturing activities in the Workshop through upfront planning, purchasing, regular planned stock takes and spot checks
- Liaise with the Supply Chain team in relation to future demand and implement adequate strategies to ensure raw materials and components supply
- Manage the communication process with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate solutions
- Design, manage and monitor yearly/monthly materials and components plan for Footwear, Craft and Clothing with regular status reporting ensuring adequate safety stocks are maintained
- Provide support to quality control and production teams in relation to any quality issues and manage the communications/solutions with the supplier
- Drive continuous improvement to processes and systems relevant to this function/role and the associated team and stakeholders
- Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to the Purchasing & Raw Materials team to ensure talent development and retention
- Develop and manage process improvements in the supply chain and identify new suppliers while maintaining quality and service delivery
- On time delivery of all components and raw materials - core, seasonal and special projects
- Maintain a safe workspace and abide by all workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers and contractors that facilitate smooth flow of services and products
Key Requirements
- Experience in purchasing, material management or related role
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong analytical thinking and financial / business acumen
- M3 experience and knowledge (desirable) or other ERP system
- Thrive and stay grounded in high pressure situations; resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take constructive feedback and use it as a tool for self-education and training purposes
- Able to learn quickly and develop appropriate skills
- A natural curiosity to analyse and improve
