The role

As a distribution design engineer, your role will involve handling both overhead and underground distribution design projects. With your technical expertise, you will be able to steer the development of engineering solutions and gain experience working with advanced technologies in a company that solely focuses on power and energy.

Responsibilities:

You should possess a working understanding of the relevant standards governing the design and provision of line designs and HV equipment. Additionally, you will need to prepare equipment layouts for substations that align with the applicable Australian standards. Your ability to manage projects related to distribution design will be demonstrated through your aptitude for planning, time management, communication, reporting, and financial control. Having experience in creating detailed designs for substation, street lighting, underground and overhead designs up to 66kV will be highly valued. You should also be proficient in using common software such as word processing, spreadsheet, AutoCAD, and customer information systems.

Requirements:

A degree or diploma/advanced diploma in Electrical Engineering, or electrical trade qualifications. Additionally, they should have at least two years of experience in electrical design, with a focus on detailed design work in electrical utility networks projects involving distributed loads, generators, solar, batteries, and grid connections. They should have a firm grasp of electrical technical design standards, as well as proficiency in the use of necessary computer systems and applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also essential.
