There is an immediate need for a Property officer to join the team on a 3 month initial contract. This is a newly formed team with an opportunity to get your start within the department on a contract basis. The view will be to eventually transition to a permanent employee.
As a Property Officer, you will provide crucial support to our department's redevelopment and acquisition program through your expertise in property matters. This role involves assisting in strategic decision-making, preparing reports, conducting property research, and coordinating various property-related activities.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Provide timely and well-researched property information to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and periodic business reports, ensuring timely delivery.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate timely property reviews.
- Monitor the progress of strategic decisions, offering advice on best practices and process improvements.
- Coordinate the collection of data and opinions from external sources related to technical, professional, valuation, or town planning matters.
- Apply your understanding of the sourced property information to support decision-making.
- Contribute to the sourcing of land for capital delivery requirements, including land acquisition, development, and redevelopment.
- Identify redevelopment opportunities aligned with departmental strategic plans, asset management plans, precinct plans, and property market conditions.
- Conduct property market research and analysis to inform decision-making and provide advice to stakeholders and management.
- Prepare correspondence, briefings, reports, and other relevant documentation as required.
- Support and maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety policies and practices.
Skills & Experience:
- Property Economics graduate preferred.
- Strong understanding of property matters, including town planning and site due diligence.

- Hold relevant qualifications in Property Economics
