Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising Warehouse Operations: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and distributing food products while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation standards
- Inventory Management: Managing inventory levels, tracking stock movements, conducting regular stock checks, and implementing efficient inventory control systems to optimize storage space and minimize waste
- Staff Management: Recruiting, training, and supervising warehouse staff, including assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and monitoring performance to ensure productivity and efficiency
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinating with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food products, coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, and managing transportation schedules
- Quality Assurance: Implementing and maintaining quality control processes to ensure that all food products meet regulatory and company standards, conducting regular inspections, and addressing any issues or non-compliance
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, conducting safety training for employees, and identifying and mitigating potential hazards
- Equipment and Maintenance: Overseeing the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems, to ensure their proper functioning and minimize downtime
- Performance Analysis and Reporting: Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing warehouse data, and preparing regular reports on inventory levels, productivity, operational efficiency, and any other relevant metrics
The Successful Applicant
Key Requirements:
- A couple of years of experience in warehouse or logistics management, preferably in the food industry or a similar fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Food Safety Regulations: Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards, such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Leadership and Team Management: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and manage a diverse team, promote a positive work culture, and resolve conflicts or issues that may arise
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify process improvements, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement effective solutions
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory tracking software, and Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
