Job Description
Are you an experienced and meticulous Accounts Payable Officer seeking an exciting opportunity? Look no further! We are currently partnering with our client that operate in the public, Victorian government sector and currently seeking a skilled professional to join our team on a 3-month contracted basis (potential temp to perm opportunity) as an Accounts Payable Officer. If you have a strong attention to detail, exceptional organisational skills, and a passion for numbers, this could be the perfect role for you!Responsibilities:
As an Accounts Payable Officer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. Your key tasks will include:
- Verifying and matching invoices with purchase orders and receipts.
- Process weekly domestic EFT payment runs; international invoice payments accurately and on a timely basis.
- Conduct AP month-end processes accurately and on a timely basis.
- Review Accounts Payable Monthly Ageing Report
- Coding invoices accurately to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Conducting vendor statement reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies.
- Preparing and processing payment runs, including checks,
- Collaborating with internal departments and vendors to resolve any invoice-related issues.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all accounts payable activities.
The Successful Applicant
- Sound accounts payable skills and experience using a finance system, Oracle or MS Dynamics (desired - not mandatory)
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
