job detailsRandstad are currently working with a fantastic Utilities organisation based in Brisbanes North to find an Advanced Financial Modelling Specialist to join their high performing team for a 5-month initial contract, with the strong chance of extension into 2024.
The Role:
As an Advanced Financial Modelling Specialist, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated financial models, analysing complex data sets, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. Your expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel, financial modelling techniques, and data visualisation will be crucial in providing accurate financial analysis, risk evaluation, and visualisations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain advanced financial models that adhere to best practices, incorporating standard formulas for calculations such as NPV, IRR, Nominal, Cube, Iferror, Index, etc.
- Create visually appealing dashboards, charts, and tables to effectively communicate complex financial information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Utilising your expertise in tabular data modelling and joining data sets to ensure accurate and comprehensive financial analysis.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify modelling requirements, objectives, and key performance indicators.
- Analyse financial data, assess risks, and evaluate controls to provide actionable recommendations for improving business performance and mitigating risks.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in financial modelling techniques, Excel functionalities, and data visualisation tools.
Necessary Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in advanced financial modelling and analysis, preferably in corporate finance.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with demonstrated experience in utilising advanced formulas and functionalities for financial modelling.
- Strong knowledge of best practices for financial modelling, including proficiency in NPV, IRR, Nominal, Cube, Iferror, Index, etc.
- Proven ability to create visually appealing dashboards, charts, and tables to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
