Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to join a state government organisation for a temporary 6-month assignment. As the AR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising thier accounts receivable function. Your responsibilities will include leading, motivating, and developing a team to ensure best practice accounts receivable, managing debt and aged debtor balance reports, providing expert advice, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, develop, and manage staff delivering the accounts receivable function.
- Provide authoritative advice on complex accounts receivable issues, systems, and processes.
- Continually improve policies, procedures, internal controls, staff and customer communication, education, and training.
- Manage the provision of debt and aged debtor balance reports with a focus on improving the collection process.
- Identify and respond to new and emerging strategic issues impacting accounts receivable.
- Manage revenue collection arrangements across all departmental sites, including system support and guidance to over-the-counter staff.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Practice cultural safety by creating environments, relationships, and systems free from racism and discrimination.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications:
- Degree in finance, accounting, or commerce is desirable.
- Membership in CPA/CA is desirable.
- Knowledge of accounting standards and the Financial Management Act.
Capabilities:
- Finance Operations & Systems: Assess and improve finance systems and reporting, maintain system integrity, and review transaction processing for compliance with policies.
- Financial Strategy, Governance & Risk Management: Provide input into the development of financial policies and control mechanisms.
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Resolve issues, identify recurring problems, and deliver effective solutions.
