The APS6 Government Relations Officer (Labour Hire) is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing work flows of a team.

The position has reasonable autonomy and accountability to exercise both initiative and judgement to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures to achieve outcomes within strategic change management project function.
The position will have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues. It is required to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the branch/division.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Developing and managing project plans for jurisdictional governance meetings and events in accordance with the Agencys project management framework.
Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports, including on relevant governance activities.
Coordinating regular governance project reporting including status updates.
Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.
Contributing to project quality management of governance tasks to ensure that deliverable are fit for purpose and meet client needs.
Building governance-related capability across the Agency by engaging and working with subject matter experts, implementing processes and tools, and undertaking continuous quality improvement of existing practises and processes.
Maintaining the register of actions, issues and risks arising from trilateral forums and prepare progress reports for the senior executive.
