My client, a highly academic independent non-denominational co-ed school, located in a relaxing coastal setting is seeking a FOOD TECHNOLOGY teacher to commence in 2024.
You will be part of the TAS department and have a load of Years 9, 10, 11 and 12 Food Technology, and a Stage 4 Technology Class.

The campus is spacious and offers impressive playgrounds and leisure spaces, with more green and open space than any other private school in the Northern Beaches. In addition to beautiful on-site sporting facilities including: an 8-lane 25-metre heated pool, large multipurpose oval, numerous play spaces, theater hall, outdoor tennis and basketball courts, an indoor sports complex and court, a Performing Arts Centre, a health centre, fully equipped gym and weights room, along with several customised classrooms for science, food tech, visual arts, music, TAS and STEM to name a few.
Key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate knowledge, competence and confidence in Food Technology
- Programming, lesson planning, assessment and reporting
- Create engaging and effective instructional materials and resources
- Modifying teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Provide effective feedback to students in order to improve their understanding and learning
- Be an active user of the schools e-learning platform to support learning and communication
- Demonstrate commitment to teacher professional development
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues, Heads of School and parents
- Ensure that all documents are prepared and presented in accordance with the Schools Style Guide
- Attend and participate in assemblies where director -
- Be allocated a Form Class each year (pastoral class) - be involved in the pastoral or leadership annual camp
- Be available for co-curricular activities after school where required.
Requirements:
Current NESA accreditation to teach in NSW & current NSW Working with Children Check
Have a passion for teaching the relevant subject area(s) and relevant teaching experience
Have recognised Tertiary Educational Qualifications
Be able to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
