job detailsRandstad Data is currently working with a large Brisbane based organisation to find Advanced Excel Modellers to join a growing team in the Commercial & Strategy area. This team is looking for someone who is passionate about growing their skills, but also within the business.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mathematics, accounting, or IT, coupled with advanced economics skills. As an Excel Guru, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic decision-making through sophisticated financial modeling, portfolio analysis, and data visualisation techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced Excel Modeling: Demonstrate hands-on expertise in advanced Excel skills beyond pivot tables and VLookup. Develop complex financial models that capture intricate business scenarios, incorporating data-driven insights to support strategic initiatives.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse and interpret data, translating it into actionable insights that drive commercial and strategic decisions.
- Bespoke Financial Modeling: Design and construct bespoke financial models tailored to specific business needs. Develop comprehensive models for forecasting, scenario analysis, budgeting, and valuation, incorporating variables that reflect the intricacies of the organisation.
- Portfolio Analysis: Apply advanced economics skills to analyse portfolios, assess risk-return trade-offs, and evaluate investment opportunities.
- Data Visualisation: Create compelling visual representations of complex data using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau. Develop interactive dashboards and reports that enable stakeholders to intuitively understand trends, patterns, and strategic insights.
- Strategic Insights: Leverage your analytical prowess to derive strategic insights from data-driven models.
- Model Enhancement and Automation: Continuously enhance and refine existing models for accuracy and efficiency. Identify opportunities for automation to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.
Necessary Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Extensive hands-on experience in advanced Excel modeling, including VBA scripting, macros, and array formulas.
- Strong background in economics and financial principles, with the ability to apply advanced quantitative techniques to real-world scenarios.
- Proven experience in developing bespoke financial models and conducting portfolio analysis.
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Previous experience in a commercial, strategy, or financial analysis role is preferred.
