Senior Procurement Officer

About the role:

This short term contract role is currently available due to internal progression for a senior procurement officer in the Perth market, where you will provide strategic project planning advice and project management support for the developed procurement contracts and contracts management. This role has the ability to be permanent after the contract.

Key responsibilities include:

- Maintaining a high standard of procurement and contracts management.
- Undertakes key strategic projects in line with the procurement and contract management priorities.
- Responsible for research, analysis and evaluation of existing business activities and new proposals from identified external agencies.
- Investigates, evaluates and recommends funding priorities across programs.
- Ability to oversee the development and evaluation of contracts.
- Liaises with other divisions and other departments, organisations and the general public as required.
- Leading critical tender negotiations, analysing quotes and tenders for evaluations.
- Monitors and controls budgets for projects and sub-projects.
- Providing a high level of stakeholder engagement with internal customers, and demonstrating superior relationship management and influencing skills with external parties.
- Offering expert guidance on procurement policy best practices.
- Skill in spotting issues and coming up with practical solutions for complex problems.
- Work closely with project managers to provide a comprehensive procurement service for assigned

Key requirements include:

- Tertiary qualifications (in conjunction with relevant experience) will be highly regarded.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in project management and /or contract management.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication.
- You will be an outcome focused professional, passionate about delivering a high quality of service.
- Strong computer skills including applications and databases.
- This position is located in Perth, Western Australia.
