This is a great opportunity to join the Distribution NEtwork Design team in Perth, as the main priority location by candidates coulus also work from offices in NT, QLD and SA to help develop their growing team. The Distribution Design Engineers/ Officers will manager overhead and underground distribution design projects for customer connection, overhead to underground conversion projects as well as distribution network reinforcement and refurbishment work. A strong technical background to drive solutions whilst developing and gaining exposure to wide ranging and complex projects in power utility and renewable energy sector.
The Role:
- 33kV to 240/415V (HV & LV) network investigation, analysis, and scoping
- Overhead power line design & modelling
- Design of Asset relocations, reinforcement, and upgrades
- Street lighting design, AutoCAD and MicroStation Drafting
- Underground power networks design (including subdivisions)
- Technical feasibility assessments, technical compliance audits, quality assurance
- checks, and detailed design tasks.
- Coordinate/schedule of works within electrical, drafting & design team, ensuring delivery milstones are achieved
- Liaise with key stakeholders including clients and utilities
- Support and mentor junior employees
- Supervisory and management of small group of technical officers including work allocation, QA and milestone delivery management and customer liaison
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, or trade based qualification and work experience relating to power utility and distribution networks
- Minimum 5 -10 years experience working in power utility, design consultancies or construction companies
- AS7000 Overhead Line Design Experience highly regarded
- Strong first principle understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
- Demonstrated experience in distribution design for overhead and underground networks
- Knowledge of Australian Standards including AS3000 and AS1158
- Knowledge of utility standards and catalogues
- Fluent in using a variety of computer programs and ability to quickly learn custom made applications
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organisational and work ethic skills
- Current Driver's Licence
