Job Description
Key outcomes of the role
- Inspire, motivate, and coach the team and organisation to understand the value of project management and the PCW process.
- Contribute actively to developing functional and organisational strategy, policy, business and leadership practices to drive whole of enterprise outcomes.
- Influence the development of improved processes and systems to achieve strategic objectives.
- Develop and deliver the project management framework and PCW processes across the organisation.
- Lead the implementation of the project management framework across the business to improve capability, project delivery and performance.
- Assist the organisation to improve performance data and analysis to inform decision making.
Key accountabilities of the position
- Lead a high performing team to manage the development and review of the business planning processes including the Projects and Capital Works and Project Management Framework.
- Effectively advocate and collaborate with teams across the organisation to increase their understanding and performance.
- Motivate and inspire peers, staff, stakeholders and customers.
- Work with the Manager to advise, shape and drive the strategic direction, cultural changes and productivity of the organisation.
- Model energy and good self-awareness, ease with complexity and ambiguity, have deep intelligence networks and actively practise collaboration.
- Create an environment that actively promotes and supports innovation and stretches improvement.
- Maintain and improve the project management office as a centre of excellence, including promoting a culture of improvement within the organisation, training and educating staff, sharing best practices,encouraging recognition of achievements, and establishing key performance indicators for improvements, projects and progress.
- Set the standards for how capital, operational and improvement projects are run including building a common set of practices, principles and templates for managing projects.
- Ensure staff accountability and clarity around role and behaviours in order to meet objectives and expectations.
- Promote robust conversations, good performance management and career development for staff.

The Successful Applicant
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Previous experience or qualifications in project management or a related discipline
- Knowledge and experience in project management methodologies, and direct experience in managing various scaled operational and capital projects
- Experience in project management tools, systems, project planning, analysis and performance reporting
- Ability to influence, gain co-operation and effect change within the organisation
- Well-developed communication skills through written and verbal communication
- A structured approach to work, good organising skills including time management
- Experience in continuous improvement, innovation and demonstrated ability to problem-solve issues to resolution
- Experience in training and supporting staff in understanding and delivering quality project management
What's on Offer
The successful candidate will be engaged within a 3 month contract, with the likelihood of extending to the end of the year pending good performance.
