About the Role
As an Independent Advisor for the Independent Advisory Council (IAC) within the our Client's organisation, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice and strategic direction to the IAC, which advises the Client's Board. This role involves working closely with IAC members, reference groups, and the IAC Secretariat to shape the NDIS's future, considering the views of people with disabilities, carers, and experts in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with IAC's Principal Member, IAC members, and reference groups to identify solutions to strategic challenges in the NDIS.
- Provide support to various reference group members, facilitating discussions, mentoring, and offering pre-briefs.
- Conduct research on behalf of reference groups to inform decision-making processes.
- Assist in the development of discussion papers, reports, and advice for submission to the Board.
- Contribute to independent projects related to IAC and reference group priorities.
- Participate in IAC sub-groups and joint Client-IAC working groups.
- Aid in the induction of new IAC and reference group members.
Soft Skills
- Empathy and understanding of lived experiences in the disability sector.
- Strong strategic understanding of the NDIS operating environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective representation in high-level discussions and negotiations.
- Ability to provide technical advice, subject matter expertise, and innovative solutions.
- Proficiency in managing strategic relationships and writing for government organizations.
