An opportunity is available to join a prestigious Government department known for its commitment to help communities, environmentalists, first nations and farmers in the Murray-Darling Basin, share water resources sustainably and efficiently by progressing national water reforms.As a proactive department, they continuously strive to improve and enrich the lives of the community members through their broad spectrum of initiatives.
The duties of this role will include:
- Providing strategy and support to the Division on stakeholder engagement, communications and delivery.
- Undertake work with a high level of sensitivity and to tight deadlines, operate under broad direction, exercise a degree of independence, and perform an important role in the strategic engagement stream of the larger team.
- Responsible for ensuring a strong collaborative culture in the division.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, encouraged to pitch ideas and deliver multiple events in a timely fashion.
- Use your expertise in engagement planning to deliver deliberative engagement events to support our policy and program areas to engage with the public and key stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in project and event management
- Demonstrate an understanding of engagement planning and strategy
- Previous experience delivering engagement and/or communication strategies
- Previous government experience highly desirable
- Monitor communication trends and generate new ideas to support water policies and programs
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Draft proactive and reactive copy across multiple communication mediums
- Previous experience using clearance channels and processes to finalize content
- Be organized, apply attention to detail, have effective communications skills and manage
- Workflow and resources whilst working in a dynamic and busy environment
- Have a can-do attitude with a desire to deliver outcomes
- Work independently and manage competing deadlines autonomously
