As a multinational company in the banking and finance industry, my client is on the lookout for an assistant accountant to join their finance team.

About the opportunity
As an assistant accountant your main responsibilities will include:
Reconciliations:
- Perform Daily Nostro and suspense reconciliation;
- Monitoring source system feeds to GL and addressing any breaks in GL
- Fixed Asset - Reconciliation, WIP and Capital Return report for HO reporting
- Intercompany reconciliation and resolution of any differences.
Accounts Payable:
- Overseeing accounts payable process and ensure that weekly pay runs are successfully completed.
- Payment of Finance related invoices
- Coordination with operations to ensure the FCY payments are processed in time
- Supplier onboarding Finance verification
Tax:
- Preparing BAS working file on a monthly basis as well as the IAS instalment calculation
- Preparing FBT working file annually
- Tracking interest WHT and ensuring timely payment
Month End Activities:
- Preparation of ME accruals and prepayments
- Posting of ME journals to ensure completeness of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss account
- Coordinating with other functions to ensure that ME accruals if any are captured
Ideal Profile
- 1-2 years of basic accounting experience
- Good interpersonal & communications skills
- Good understanding of basic accounting concepts and billing/payment processes
- Good PC skills, including Excel, Word
