Key position responsibilities
Contribute to the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of targeted,
appropriate and accessible programs and services for a range of communities with diverse
needs.
Support the governance, budget and planning, reporting and evaluation of community
engagement programs at NSW State Office.
Provide analysis on complex issues and contribute to the management, preparation and
coordination of policy formulation and/or project management.
Develop and support key internal and external relationships, including managing stakeholders
to achieve work area and agency goals.
Communicate and make decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge,
governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions
and procedures.
Contribute to doctrine, election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the
referendum readiness framework, according to individual accountability's and responsibilities.
Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed by the
Management from time to time.
Additional responsibilities during an Electoral Event
The volume of requests for advice, along with the urgency to resolve matters, will increase
significantly prior to the referendum event.

connection with your employment with the AEC.
Must not be or be seen to be publicly active in political affairs and not intend to publicly
engage is such activities during your employment with the AEC.
Be familiar with, abide by and promote all AEC work health and safety frameworks, policies
and procedures.
Complete all training required.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Mandatory
An understanding of the issues affecting a range of communities with diverse needs such as
Indigenous, CALD, homeless, prisoners, youth and/or people with disabilities.
An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with diverse communities.
Knowledge and experience in successfully completing allocated tasks and delivering quality
results.
Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst liaising with stakeholders and assisting to
resolve issues.
Ability to conduct analysis and research and report on findings with the ability to contribute
new ideas and identify opportunities for business efficiency improvement.
Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and policy
parameters.
A demonstrated proficiency with computer based project tools (e.g. Microsoft product suite of
Project, Excel and PowerPoint).
Desirable
Relevant qualifications or experience working with people from diverse backgrounds or/and
community engagement.
Understanding of project management methodologies and ability to work within a project
framework.
Knowledge of, or ability to, quickly gain basic knowledge of Australian electoral law and
practice.
Other Essential Requirements
Character clearance, including a police check.
