Randstad are working exclusively with the Department for Environment and Water. This position will be a specialised role providing information and making the decisions relating to flood management.
Your new role:
As the Flood Management Officer, you will be experienced in flood management, hydrology or floodplain hydraulics providing professional recommendations, analysis and advice to the team and community. Your proven research skills and experience will be complemented by your ability to develop documentation which provides solutions.
- Evaluate and gather information from formal and informal sources, organisations and professional networks.
- Provide thoroughly researched written documents that are easy to understand.
- Understand core issues and identify possible solutions.
- Manage projects effectively by defining clear objectives, allocating and closely managing time and resources.
- Maintain good relationships with stakeholders internal and external including emergency services agencies and local government.
This position is a core position in the Flood Management team, providing specialist advice during incidents. As the Flood Management Officer you will need:
- Experience in surface hydrology or flood plain hydraulics and managing stakeholders - essential
- A qualification in engineering, science, or equivalent is essential and emphasis on surface water hydrology or floodplain hydraulics - desirable
- Highly developed communication verbally and written with the ability to positively influence - essential
- National Police Clearance required for the successful candidate.
