We are seeking an estimator with manufacturing experience, to join the ever growing team and help deliver industry leading, Australian projects for our client. This opportunity will be offered on a permanent, full-time basis at our clients manufacturing facility in the Northern Suburbs.
Position Purpose:
This opportunity will play a pivotal role in our clients operational team, and be responsible for providing the best estimating processes for operational activities. This opportunity will also support up and coming business development and contribute to current business opportunities for our client.
What the role will involve:
- Lead, develop and support our clients existing estimating framework and process.
- Provide analysis on calculations, drawings and design reviews for the operational team.
- Be at the forefront of our clients SMP estimating process.
- Undertake accurate material-takeoffs.
- Collaborate effectively with our clients tender team, and provide support into pre-contract and delivery phases.
- Conduct regular, planned client visits to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Be responsible for tender submissions and aid in our clients business development.
- Help develop estimating practices, including quote templates, databases and other estimating tools.
- Liaise with various co-workers, including boilermakers/welders to ensure estimating is as accurate as possible.
Candidate requirements:
- Two to five years experience in estimating within the manufacturing, construction or mining industries.
- Experience with SMP projects, a sound understanding of the manufacturing process.
- Trade backgrounds are highly desirable but not essential.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen to better understand projects and provide estimation.
- Personable characteristics, able to liaise with various stakeholders in a confident manner.
