About The Role
As the Governance and Secretariat Specialist, you will be at the heart of the organization's governance processes, ensuring that environmental regulations and policies are upheld to achieve optimal organizational outcomes. Your expertise in corporate governance practices and your ability to navigate government legislation will be instrumental in guiding our Client's mission. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on environmental protection and sustainability in Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
- Governance Expertise
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of corporate governance practices to support the governance bodies and secretariat processes.
- Develop, interpret, and implement relevant government legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and drive organizational success.
- Environmental Regulation
- Utilize your broad understanding of environmental regulation, especially in relation to pollution and waste, to inform decision-making and contribute to the mission of environmental protection.
- Project and Program Management
- Demonstrate your ability to plan, prioritize, monitor, and successfully deliver multiple projects and programs simultaneously, ensuring high-quality results.
- Effective Communication
- Manage and coordinate complex briefs, letters, emails, and reports using clear, concise, and grammatically correct language.
- Edit written communications to ensure they contain necessary information and meet audience needs while adhering to appropriate styles and formats.
- Team Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work as an influential and effective member of a cohesive team, committing to the successful delivery of organizational priorities.
- Build and sustain enduring relationships, both internal and external, to foster collaboration and achieve common goals and targets.
Soft Skills
- Problem Solving: Exhibit a capability to think creatively and find innovative solutions. Be willing to explore new approaches and have a genuine desire to collaborate with stakeholders to make a positive difference.
Desirables
- A relevant tertiary degree and/or postgraduate qualification.
- Senior-level experience in supporting governance bodies and secretariat processes, preferably in government.
Employment Requirements
- The successful applicant will be employed according to the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020, Public Administration Act 2004, Environment Protection Act 2017, and other relevant guidelines and policies.
- Mandatory checks, including a national police check and private interests declaration, will be conducted as part of the selection process.
- Identified positions within our client's organisation may require additional security clearance, which the successful candidate will need to obtain and maintain.
- Occupational health and safety training will be required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees.
