job detailsRandstad is currently seeking Senior Policy Officers who can operate with excellence and expertise with solid attention to detail and establish and maintain relationships. Our partnering department is looking for someone enthusiastic and not afraid of a challenge whilst making a positive difference in the Victorian government.
About your new role
As a committed team player, the Senior Policy Officer has a key role in undertaking legislative and policy analysis and providing authoritative advice on Victorian legislation and regulatory reform proposals. The role informs and contributes to developing modern, fit-for-purpose regulatory frameworks and governance for resource portfolio entities, including the Mining Warden and the Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority.
What you will need to exceed
- Review and develop legislation, sub-ordinate legislation and administrative practices and arrangements
- Provide authoritative policy advice to the Minister and executive management as required.
- Development of policy and legislation, led by other Government agencies.
- Provide ministerial and parliamentary support by developing or coordinating briefings, ministerial correspondence, cabinet submissions, possible parliamentary questions, media releases etc. as required.
- Actively engage with key stakeholders, including working across the Office of the Minister for Energy and
- Resources, DJPR, Victorian and Commonwealth agencies.
