About the opportunity
We are seeking experienced and proactive Boilermakers and Mechanical Fitters to join our crews at one of our three Alumina Refineries located south of Perth, in the South West and Peel regions of Western Australia.
We can offer a family friendly roster, allowing you to work within a refinery environment but able to go home at the end of every shift. Alcoa has opportunities now and in the future for permanent contracts, fixed-term contracts or being part of our future talent pool. These positions are on either a 9 day fortnight day roster, 10.3 hour or 12-hour shift rosters.

We are seeking candidates who are proactive in their work approach with a desire for continual improvement. You will possess strong diagnostic, problem solving and fault-finding skills with the ability to work with like-minded people.
As a Mechanical Tradesperson you are one of the key contributors in maximising equipment availability at a time when technical resources are unavailable. The key tasks performed will include:
Routine, planned maintenance on mechanical plant and associated equipment
Fault finding and break-down maintenance on fixed plant equipment
Working autonomously to solve problem, diagnose and make recommendation of repairs
Scoping of future maintenance including identification of part numbers
About you
To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
Mechanical Trades certificate
Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW), ideally with 3G or 6G coded experience
High Risk Licenses: Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry
Manual C class drivers licence
Strong commitment to safety
Well-developed communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work under minimum supervision and self-manage conflicting priorities
Self-motivation to complete quality work
Ability to excel in a dynamic team environment with others of diverse skill-sets
In addition to this, it is highly desirable for you to have:
Laser alignment experience
Previous experience working within a mining, refining or heavy industry environment
Tickets such as Crane, Bobcat, Dogging, Forklift Skid steer-loader and EWP
Experience on computerised maintenance systems
HR Drivers licence
