Job Description
Leading a small technical accounting team, this role provides accounting compliance and reporting, ensuring integrity of accounts and detailed and timely audit and tax reporting.
Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Interpretation and implementation of Accounting standards, communication of changes across the broader Accounting team and providing education to the relevant business areas
- Preparation of monthly Board reporting and commentary, liaison with the Executive Leadership Team and Board and provision of further information and explanation
- Lead the financial accounting function in ensuring integrity of accounts, identifying areas of development and upskill of the team
- Produce the periodic Financial Statement reports in a timely manner
- Manage extensive and regular audits
- Tax reporting including Income Tax and FBT
- Extensive liaison with internal and external stakeholders, the Audit and Risk Committee and various Government Agencies.
The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this role you will have an extensive financial accounting background with CA or CPA qualification and be an expert at interpretation of standards and implementing subsequent changes.
You will be highly detail orientated and thrive working to routine deadlines. Strong analytic and problem solving skills will also be imperative in this role. As will an ability to look at the system used and identify areas for further optimisation.
Strong people and leadership qualities are also imperative in this role from managing the team effectively to building and strengthening external relationships. You will enjoy people leadership and developing the skill base within the team. An ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships across the business and with an array of external stakeholders will be highly regarded and assist in success in this role.
