We are currently recruiting for Financial Accountants for various state government departments at an ASO4 and ASO5 level ($46 per hour - $52 per hour + super) for short term contracts (5 months) with possibility of extension.
Responsibilities will include: ...
- Prepare financial management reports that comply with accounting standards
- Prepare and analyse financial reports and ensure the accuracy of system generated financial reports
- Prepare reconciliations including: investigating and following up of outstanding items; balancing the general ledger and subsidiary systems where access is provided; collating returns; preparing calculations and journals for processing, and approving journals when required
To be considered for the role you will ideally have:
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, asset accounting, financial reporting functions, in dealing with complicated accounting issues and the preparation of complex reconciliations
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of financial statements
- Intermediate - Advanced MS Excel Skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance
- Work experience in government (desirable)
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
