ABOUT THE ROLE
Tronox is seeking a Manager of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) based at our Northern Operations. This is a permanent position, reporting directly to the Director of SHEQ and has 6 direct reports with a total team of 35 SHEQ Professionals. This is a senior role, and a valued role within the Site Management Team. The role works across our two Northern Operations sites that incorporate our Synthetic Rutile Processing Plant in Muchea and our Cooljarloo Mine Site near Cataby, WA.
Camp accommodation is provided for overnight stays at our Cooljarloo Mine, which include quality on site facilities.
As the SHEQ Manager you will provide leadership and direction to a large team of people, Safety and Health, Environmental and Laboratory professionals who are all key contributors to Tronox delivering Safe, Quality, Low Cost, Sustainable Tonnes. Your key responsibilities will include:Demonstrate a high level of leadership, communication and engagement skills within all levels of the organization that drive positive change in safety culture and site based objectives and key results.Shaping and implementing the SHEQ strategy, processes and systems that align with regional and global business plans.Continually seek ways to improve the effectiveness and delivery of Tronoxs Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Programs by understanding work, embracing best practice, sharing learnings, implementing improved methods.Provide a high standard of professional advice on relevant legislation and standards, to senior management, managers and key stakeholders in line with good practice, contemporary and emerging practices, and the best available evidence.Lead safety professional development activities to ensure the ongoing improvement of the site teams capability through, for example, training, learning teams, and coaching.Lead change, ensuring organisational learning and delivery of sustainable improvement actions.Accountability for governance and assurance processes so that legal, regulatory compliance and stakeholder expectations are exceeded.Proactively lead the professional and personal development of the Northern Operations SHEQ team in all aspects of performance, capability and capacity. Partnering with our contractors and service providers, facilitating the flow of information, reducing goal conflict and mitigating risk.
ABOUT YOUTertiary level qualification such as a Bachelors Degree or higher in an appropriate discipline.Demonstrated experience in the successful management of SHE activities, strategy and governance across multiple sites in a similarly complex work environment You will possess interpersonal skills to influence and coach at a senior level and can demonstrate a collaborative and constructive approachDemonstrated experience working with and influencing a broad range of stakeholder groups (e.g. business functions, regulators, community, indigenous groups, contractors, industry etc.)You will be curious and have a desire to understand work as done and be comfortable directly supporting our operations teams You will understand the fundamentals of risk management and its effective application in a major hazard environmentYou will possess outstanding business acumen and commercial awarenessYou must be flexible with your time and approach and willing to travel within the state.
