Job summary
The Role:Newly created opportunity for a Senior Compliance Officer to develop, implement and manage a sound and robust compliance framework that adheres to local and global regulations in relation to physical and derivatives energy businesses in Australia.
The incumbent will ensure that the Global Energy Management and Sales (GEMS) ANZ team members meet financial and physical market regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and deploy locally transversal risked-based compliance framework and mapping to focus on major risks operational guidance, value-added solutions and preventive actions.Perform effective and efficient compliance risk preventive and monitoring actions. This includes generating awareness, provide training, conduct on-boarding, provide day-to-day assistance on compliance related operations and processes and other remediation measures as necessaryConduct compliance risk review, including implementation and follow-up of action plansEnsure AFSL, AER, AEMO, Corporate Act regulatory obligations are met, including oversight of processes & procedures to meet these regulatory requirementsLead the responses to regulator and market compliance inquiries, in collaboration with legal teams, commercial teams and GEMS global teams.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have solid understanding and working experience with compliance management to meet regulatory obligations with the AER, AEMO, ASIC, AFSL and ASX. You will have knowledge of Australian commodity and other relevant markets that relate to power generation, gas trading, wholesale and retail supply activities.
You have the ability to find pragmatic solutions to ensure the business is compliant with laws and regulations within a changing regulatory environment. You are able to manage complexity and can adapt to different situations whilst having the courage to step up to address difficult situations. You are collaborative in your approach, where possible, and can use compelling arguments to gain the support and commitment of others to drive business and compliance outcomes.

The Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) business unit is the fully integrated trading arm of the ENGIE Group.
