About the role
Our local government client is looking for an experienced Administration Support Officer on a casual basis until January 2023.
You will be accountable for delivering high quality, efficient and effective administrative support functions to the Executive Business Partner, Mayor, Elected Members and the Chief Executive Officer across a broad range of disciplines with a particular emphasis on the provision of support to Office in carrying out its function to provide strategic direction, governance and support to the Elected Body, community and the whole administration of Council
- Work close to home, based in the north-eastern suburbs of Adelaide
- Attractive pay of $37+ per hour plus super
- Part time hours (3 days a week, school hours considered)
Roles and responsibilities
Your responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:
- Provide a range of routine administration support activities to the OMCEO, in compliance with legislative and policy requirements, documented processes and Councils organisational values and objectives.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the Executive Business Partner, Mayor, Elected Members, CEO and other areas of the organisation where necessary including email processing, letter preparation, data entry activity, register administration and maintenance, filing and purchase order and financial transaction processing, website content management.
- Ensure a consistently high-quality customer experience through responsive support to customer requests as it relates to Office and Council functions.
- Assist in the management of meeting requests, setting up of meeting spaces and the taking of minutes for internal meetings as required.
- Assist in the administrative support for relevant Council, committee, staff or other meetings including distribution, productions, action management and follow up of action items.
- Assist with one off projects and reports as requested by the Executive Business Partner or CEO.
- Assist with event management such as citizenship, dignitary visits, Australia Day and other community or Mayoral events as required.
Skills and experience
We are searching for someone with:
- A certificate, diploma, or demonstrated experience in business administration or related field
- Experience in a governmental role or environment
- Capability to apply subject matter knowledge to administratively support and inform projects and initiatives as they relate to Corporate Services and Business Innovation.
- Knowledge and understanding of maintaining digital resources and platforms including websites.
- Exceptional customer service skills with knowledge of principles and practices underpinning quality customer service.
- Working knowledge of computer systems with the capacity to demonstrate intermediate ICT skills.
- A developing understanding of Councils organisational structure, operations, procedures, values, services and objectives.
- An understanding of and ability to follow Councils policies and processes with particular emphasis on and the ability to apply Councils Customer Service Charter.
To be considered for this role you must have full working rights in Australia, extensive and relevant work experience, and a passion for governmental roles and responsibilities. We require you to have full availability for the duration of your role.
