About the role
We are looking for part-time Activities Officer's to empower and engage with our Residents to maximise their participation in Leisure and Lifestyle programs based at Cabrini, Westmead.
Our focus for residents is what best suits their individual needs and wants, our Activities Officers facilitate this though:
Assisting with the assessment of individual needs and interests to support, challenge and enhance psychological, social, emotional, spiritual, cognitive and physical wellbeing. Participate in the development and implementation of individual Diversional Therapy plans. Participate with the Diversional Therapist or Residential Manager to translate customer needs and preferences into a range of therapeutic activities in conjunction with the Registered Nurse and/or other relevant staff. Report on the effectiveness of individual plans and related activities and identify opportunities for improvement. Monitor customers changing abilities and interests and provide access to a wide variety of activities and experiences. Contribute to the compliance and accreditation outcomes in relation to the Leisure and Lifestyle Program. Assist with managing the activities budget and coordinate appropriate resources and equipment as necessary. Assist with the trial of new developments and innovative approaches to Leisure and Lifestyle programs. Support the involvement of volunteers and other staff in Leisure and Lifestyle programs.
About you
To be successful you will have:
Certificate III in Leisure and Lifestyle, Diversional Therapy or equivalent experienced deemed appropriate. Ability to provide high quality Leisure and Lifestyle programs towards improved customer wellbeing. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to operate independently as well as participate in a multidisciplinary team. Understanding of relevant legislative, regulatory requirements, professional standards and guidelines relevant to the aged and community care environment. Valid working rights in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate etc) Police Check (valid within the last 3 years) 2022 Flu Vaccinations (or willingness to obtain) Evidence of Covid-19 vaccinations in line with current requirements
