Psychologist- South West Sydney

We have a Temporary (12 months) full time vacancy available now. We will also be creating a Talent Pool from this recruitment for another position that is coming up in the near future. Location: South West Sydney District with locations at Liverpool or Fairfield Salary range $69,681 pa - $122,413 pa plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

Your role

Specialises in trauma informed therapeutic assessment and intervention Based on assessment and formulation, develops and implements treatment plans for children, young people, families and carers Equips staff through training and reflective practice sessions Provides specialist consultation to guide casework practice

What you'll do

As part of the Psychological and Specialist Service team (South West Sydney), work with a variety of disciplines to deliver psychological assessment, therapeutic interventions and professional services to DCJ client groups including children, young people, families and carers. Provide specialist consultation to staff and managers and assist in the development of therapeutic case plans. DCJ Psychologists are considered to be Therapeutic Specialists who are clinical experts in trauma informed therapeutic care.

What we're looking for

In addition to meeting the essential requirements, the successful candidate must have:
Ability to administer, and an understanding of the reliability and validity, of standardised and non-standardised psychological tests, questionnaires and rating scales. Scientist-practitioner approach to assessment, formulation and provision of evidence-based intervention to address the behavioural, emotional, cognitive, and attachment needs of the child or family. An understanding of the application of psychological theory, assessment and intervention when working with Aboriginal children, and children from other cultural backgrounds. Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills; both written and verbal. Ability to work as a member of a specialised team and to provide regular reports to internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work independently, and to prioritise workload

Essential requirements of the role

Tertiary qualifications in Psychology recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia, either: full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, or

Provisional registration with an ability to fulfil full registration within the relevant timeframes. Knowledge of theoretical and therapeutic frameworks that underpin assessment and intervention in the context of child abuse/neglect Current driver's licence

National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014 Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012

It is an essential requirement of the role that successful applicants are fully vaccinated and able to provide acceptable proof of vaccination status.
